I can’t believe after all of the Lunch Wagons we’ve been to, you only blogged 7 of them. Too bad you lost your photos from our visits to Kewalo’s Lunch Wagon.

This is the best Hawaii food blog. I keep an eye on it for stuff that I might want to check out whenever I am in Hawaii. Last month while in Honolulu, I went to Goma Tei Ramen because the review looked so good and it was wonderful! You can’t get good Ramen in the Midwest…and I thank you for the great work you put into this site.

Do you remember the restaurant that occupied the space in the Ilikai Marina where Red Lobster is currently?

Also, there was a great Chinese restaurant in Kaimuki between 11th and 12th Avenues parallel to Harding

    Two comments:

The Original Kaimuki Inn as I recall (born and raised in Kaimuki, now 70 years old) was where the Top of the Hill bar is today. The restaurant included the area of that bar and another 40 ft or so up the hill. Before closing, it was divided into a the bar and a smaller restaurant. The Neon sign stayed up for quite a few years beyond closing, I believe.

We used to go to a drive-in on Keeaumoku Street around where Sorabol’s is today. It was called Kelly’s and they had a great hamburger with a very unique sauce. Anyone remember? I’d love to taste that burger again.
