Keanu’s Crispy Won Tons
• 1 lb. ground pork
• 1 carrot, grated
• 3 stalks green onion, cut 1/4″
• 1/4 onion, finely chopped
• 1/4 cup imitation crab, chopped (optional)
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp. sesame oil
• Dash of salt & pepper
• 1 package square wonton wrappers
• Oil for deep frying
Mix all ingredients above, except for wonton wrappers and cooking oil. Place about 1 teaspoon of mixture in center of wonton wrapper and fold in half into triangle. then connect corners to form the familiar Chinese Wonton shape, using a little water to “glue” seams. Repeat until all the wonton filling is used up.
Deep fry wontons in cooking oil set at 350ºF until golden brown.
Serve with your favorite store-bought Sweet & Sour Sauce, or make your soy dipping sauce: soy sauce, ginger, chopped green onion, dash of sesame oil, salt and pepper. Or Cantonese sytle: soy sauce and coleman’s mustard (premixed with water).
