Ellen’s Teriyaki Sauce

Ellen’s Teriyaki Sauce

  • 1/2 cup shoyu
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp. mirin
  • grated ginger

Bring all ingredients to a boil and thicken with cornstarch. Use to marinade and baste your favorite meats.

This is my old Kaneohe neighbor, Ellen Yamaguchi’s recipe. This one has that true “local” flavor!
