Chris, mahalo for your service. Curious what the "boar" is you're requesting on the menu. Some type of pork dish?

Made the mistake of looking at this before heading to the dining facility here in Iraq for the 900th time...can't wait to get back.

Town is our favorite restaurant on the island, a place where we can be equally excited about trying something new and confident that we'll enjoy some of the more frequent dishes again and again. Service is friendly and professional, and you can't lose on the menu. Bartenders are artists. Won't even begin to make recommendations. I'd like to see the boar on the menu more.

Tony, I LOVE Menpachi, and that's a pretty good price. Looks like a good-sized Menpachi too. Most of the locallly-caught ones I see in the markets lately are on the small side.

that grilled lamb sausage with farro tabouleh, and cucumber raita looks delish as well. I don't recall ever having Lamb Sausage. I'd like to try that with mint jelly!

I love Hamakua Mushrooms. I did a post on their products here:

Thanks again for sharing that great review of Town. Kaimuki's Waialae avenue sure has a lot of great places to eat!

I've also enjoyed Town in the past. I feel like the setting is classy enough to entertain clients/friends, Kelike. It has an upscale, yet socially/ecologically conscious feel to it. It's a classy place for sure. If you are someone who cares in the least about local growers or even if your just a foodie who loves inventive combinations, Town if for you. I liked your descriptions of the food, Tony. Makes me want to go back there soon! And I feel like I would spend much more than the amount you mentioned on much less interesting food at a Waikiki chain restaurant. Cheers!

I had dinner at Town recently- I thought the service was excellent- the waitress gave us lots of information on the menu and the ingredients, and was perfectly attentive without making it feel like we were being overly bothered. I think Kelike's comment about the setting is something to consider, but then inside was nicely designed and decorated, and the food was so good that I soon forgot about where the restaurant was. I like the review- it matches our experience. We had the ahi on risotto as well, and thought it was excellent! Nice work Aloha Tony.

We had lunch at Town last year, and it came up to $60 for three adults and two kids. Not the cheapest meal available. But the quality of the food and the freshness of the ingredients is tough to beat. Parking is not too much of a problem at lunch but dinnertime could be a hassle.

I don't mind paying that price if the service is also four stars. If not rather head to Waikiki for it. I do enjoy going out to entertain friends not sure if the setting is upscale enough for it too. But I will try it out with some friends first to see.
