This past Saturday, February 18, 2017, Millwood Ohana Productions presented the first Lokahi Block Festival Waikiki, taking place from 4pm to 10pm on Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki, spanning from Lewers Street, all the way up to in front of the Hyatt Regency Resort & Spa, just past Kaiulani Avenue.
This massive block party event was held to celebrate local culture and small businesses, providing visitors and kama’aina the opportunity to enjoy local flavors from numerous food trucks and related vendors, handcrafts and other small business ‘wares. There were also bouncies for the Keiki, as well as live unplugged music, including a local high school Ukulele group.
A portion of sales proceeds are to be donated to the American Heart Association.
Following is the Tasty Island’s photo coverage of the event. Please note, while there aren’t any detailed captions for these photos, there will be a follow-up post that will put a spotlight on a couple of vendors I was thoroughly impressed with.
