Coverage: 2016 HONOLULU PRIDE™ Parade

Let’s take a foodie break and check out the 2016 HONOLULU PRIDE™ Parade, which took place yesterday, Saturday, October 22, 2016. It began 11am at Magic Island, Ala Moana Beach Park, heading Diamond Head-bound on Ala Moana Boulevard, then through Waikiki on Kalakaua Avenue, finishing at Kapiolani Park.

The HONOLULU PRIDE™ Parade is part of a two week festival of events that brings together Hawaii’s diverse LGBTQ+ community, friends, family and allies, celebrating bonds of love, friendship and aloha.

The PRIDE parade is no question shall we say, one of the most “colorful” ones I’ve ever witnessed, as being a straight guy myself (at least, last I checked I was lol), this is actually the very first time I’ve ever attended this highly acclaimed event. Which I must say, the LGBTQ+ community REALLY knows how to throw it down! Super-duper fun and wonderful folks!

Most of these photos were taken at the Magic Island parking lot right before the parade, when everyone looked their best. Enjoy. ;-)

Never mind Wonder Woman… we’ve got Wonder WOMEN! lol

I forget “her” stage name, but “she’s” the manager at Fusion Waikiki, an LGBT bar that holds regular drag shows and male reviews

No question these “guys” would win best costume of the parade… totally AWESOME!

Not surprisingly, a large crowd congregated at Hula’s right after the parade, including them balloon roller skate gals, where they put them on display in front.. neat-oh!
